Concerned...

A few weeks ago we had a guy at our door trying to sell us a No Soliciting sign. Yeah, we laughed too.

Anyway he did the whole con thing where they say they are a neighbor, or they were talking to your neighbor and Jerry next door said...which puts you at ease then they say, Oh I'm so and so by the way, what's your name? Now they have your name for the next house down the way to go to Pam and say, Jerry and Brent were all in on these signs.

He had a good patter. Brent was distracted because he was in the middle of cleaning litter boxes and I made him answer the door because...well I would have just let the guy stand out there and rot otherwise.

But I could hear him talking to Brent and as he was ready to leave he said that he might be back again, but he'd remember our house because of our really distinctive chairs.

Yesterday during the confirmation hearings for Hegseth he wouldn't agree to not use American Troops against Americans inside of the United States. That's a pretty straightforward thing to agree to. We don't use our own troops against our own people. But he wouldn't do it. Because Trump wants the freedom to use our troops against Americans.

Hegseth is wholly unqualified to be Secretary of Defense for a lot of reasons. Like there are zero reasons he would be qualified. But the only thing that Trump wants in his cabinet this time around is unquestioned loyalty. If he says go into to Portland and start shooting protestors, he wants a yes, sir, not a reason why it's unconstitutional to do so.

We are entering a really scary time. I know I keep talking about it, and I know a lot of you think I'm worried over nothing, but...

His cabinet is being confirmed. Watching the questions and they way they answer, or avoid answering, is telling. He is filling the offices with unqualified sycophants. Bannon's dream of completely dismantling the government and running the US into ruins is finally coming true. Ironically without Bannon having any real control over it, Musk took his space. Money wins, so sorry, Stevie. The Supreme Court has already ruled that Trump can commit any crime he wants to while in office. There are no guard rails this time. There is no safety lever.

His Secretary of Defense nominee would not state that he wouldn't use American Troops on American People on American Soil.

Republican State houses have been picking up the Christian Nationalist cry and their most pressing business as they come back in to session has been to make laws around trans people and further ban any sort of access to abortion. The changes with Meta got rid of protections against hate speech. Women are objects to own and anyone in the LBGTQIA+ family has a mental disease. The your body my choice incel brigade is celebrating. As California burns Republicans talk about not sending aid money unless they bend the knee to Trump.

I don't think our no soliciting solicitor was intending on being threatening, but I cannot guarantee it.

My chairs are distinctive. For those of you that don't know they are rainbows. If you were to look in the window of the office (which you can do from the street) you would see a trans pride flag and a bisexual pride flag on the wall. There is no doubt who we are and who we support.

I won't be taking any of those down.

Brent said the other day he was going to have to get a stack of cash available for bail money. Just in case.

The world is getting less safe for all of us. Just some of us are probably going to feel it first.
