Does That Mean it Worked?
I don't even know how to feel about the news lately. Is it good? Is it bad? Are we seeing changes? Are we seeing things being entrenched? Are we on the verge of ending this mess or will it never end?
The media is owned by people who don't want you to know the truth. And I get that. But it's still hard to wrap your head around the fact that we can't ever get the truth of a situation. Which is what their goal has always been. Flood the zone with shit. Overwhelm everybody all the time. Lie without remorse or shame.
People have latched on to the Reflecting Pool as a big story. I think it's because it's one of the few things out there that they (the media, the talking heads, the arbiters of what can be known) can't hide it. It is green. The sealing is pulling up. They can say that the water is clear (which they tried) but it's not. They can also say that it was sabotage and they have picture proof which they will show you sometime, but not now, right now it's with their girlfriend, you've never met her because she lives in Canada.
But we can all see that the blue is peeling up and the water is green and they did that. It was a shitty job, probably exacerbated by the presidential motorcade DRIVING on it while it was being done. There is also a lot of science around why there is a massive algae bloom right after refilling but they aren't big on science so sabotage it is.
But we can all see it. No matter what you believe about how it got that way, they can't hide it. They can't put a covering over it like they did The Kennedy Center when they had to take his name off of it. They can't pretend that "everybody" was asking for it like they do the fucking ballroom. Nobody ever saw the Reflecting Pool and thought, you know what would make this better? Blue plastic floating in a sea of bright green. It's tangible.
It's the same thing that happened when he tore down the East Wing and the images flooded the news and all of our social media feeds. And people were OUTRAGED. As they should be. People really latched on to it and were pissed. For a week at least. Maybe a little more. Long enough that the whispers of "is this it? Will this be the thing that does it?" started to spread. And I think it was working because suddenly the images stopped. If it was reported on it was reported on without the video of the wreckage.
And then we moved on to the next thing. And the next. And the next.
It's so much that when there is good news (Go New York elections!) it is reported with the hand wringing of the last days. Seriously. People out there worried that progressives winning in New York are somehow dooming the Democrats in November. Sure, because middle of the road, not that much different but the tie color, see you both at the AIPAC convention and at Peter Thiel's Dialog get together...has been a good winning strategy.
But then again, what do I know? I was stunned the first time Trump won and positive when he left office that it was finally over. By the time he ran again I realized that it wasn't and fully thought he was going to win again no matter how much I tried to be optimistic about my fellow Americans, but...you know...they are what they are.
And part of what they are is fed a media diet of just constant mis and disinformation. Just flat out bullshit. And it's harder and harder to find places where it's not bullshit. Where they will just say, the water is green and Trump lost in 2020.
So, I guess it's working. Their plan to overwhelm us all and keep up jumping from one outrage to the other without ever finding a solution for anything. They haven't released the Epstein files, we are or are not at war with Iran still depends on what you just read, elections are in danger but maybe not, or wait, scratch that the Postmaster just said Oh yeah, you in danger, girl.
And it just keeps coming.
But the water is green.
The sealant is peeling.
His name is off the building and in the files.
And the progressives made a stand in NYC.
Hold on to what is true however you can.
