One Week Later...
The stories have hardened. Either you believe the ICE agent and our government or you believe what was on the recording. The latest thing the administration is trying is "leaking" to CBS "news" that the ICE officer had internal bleeding on his torso. This is supposed to be proof that he was hit by a car and in fear for his life.
First off...anything this administration says is not subject to reality. They lie constantly. They lie about things that there is no reason to lie about so we have zero reason to believe them. As a good rule of thumb when reading or listening to news about some police incident or another take "police say" with a grain of salt. Police say a lot of things, and sometimes those things actually match what happened, but often they don't. Our government is currently in the police say realm of reality.
And secondly, I suffer from internal bleeding all of the time. Right now I have multiple areas of old internal bleeding. Hell, Brent even had a round of internal bleeding on his torso sometime this week. Was he hit by a car? Was in he in fear for his life? Or does he have a random bruise on his rib cage that he can't remember how he got it? Yeah, internal bleeding sounds really scary but bruises are internal bleeding. He got a ya ya. A boo boo.
And now I'm going to say something even more radical.
I wouldn't care if the car did hit him. She was barely rolling. He stepped in front of her. He could have moved away. Instead he shot her three times. Once from the front, twice from the side. Once from the front. Where the video that they released SWEARING it exonerated him showed him walking from the side of her car after she told him "I'm not mad at you." He put himself into the path of her car. I mean, she turned the wheels to avoid hitting him anyway, but he was the one who put himself in the path of the car. The car that was barely moving. It's such a reach to say he was in fear for his life.
And lastly, that video of his that they released? He was holding a cell phone in one hand recording everything and his gun in the other. When he fired the gun he did it one handed. While still trying to manage his phone. The recoil of an unsecure gun could for sure bruise your torso. Is that what happened? Who knows. We know he was fine and able to walk to his car and leave the scene as soon as he realized he'd killed her. Not really the walk of a man who had "almost been killed by a weaponized vehicle."
Of course he also called her a fucking bitch after shooting her. My take on that part? He was furious that she remained calm and centered while he tried to intimidate her. He wanted her screaming and out of control, that's why he was recording her, he wanted content for the masses. And she didn't give it. She told him she wasn't mad at him. Her wife told him to go ahead and record their license plate, it would be the same one that was always on their car. (ICE often switches plates, or goes without plates on their cars, totally illegal but hey, they aren't big on following any laws) He wanted them scared and they didn't give it to him and it pissed him off. And a pissed off bully with a gun is a very bad thing.
It's been one week since Renee Good was killed. Six federal prosecutors in Minnesota have resigned because the DOJ is investigating Renee Good's widow instead of the ICE officer who killed her. It's been one week since Renee Good was killed. We have seen the recordings, lots of different angles, we've watched the breakdowns and slow motion recaps. We know what happened and what did not happen. It's been one week since Renee Good was killed. We've heard the administration lie repeatedly about what happened. It's been one week since Renee Good was killed.
Her wife and her kids are dealing with all of the grief.
We are all dealing with the anger.
Abolish ICE.
