Radical...

A few years ago I was lambasted by a contingent of my center left and right friends for saying that I believed we should abolish ICE.

I was being too radical.

Both sides agreed.

Both sides being that little waver in the middle that we are all supposed to cater our political thoughts to.

I wouldn't budge. ICE is a behemoth of unaccountability. Police departments used to say that the people that couldn't pass the psych evals to be a cop would go to ICE. I'm not sure they were joking. I don't care who the president is, they shouldn't have their own private police force. And that's what ICE is.

You're seeing it now play out in real time with Trump. This is what happens when someone like Trump gets their own army. ICE is under the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Kristi Noem is incompetent. She's a fraudster and grifter just like the rest of his cabinet. Bilking taxpayers out of billions of dollars for new planes and photo shoots and ad campaigns.

She's also a liar.

Today she stood in front of a microphone and lied about ICE shooting and killing someone in Minneapolis. Bold facedly lied. As if there weren't multiple videos of what actually happened. As if we all didn't know she was lying because she's always lying. Everytime there has been an incident with ICE she's said, "SELF DEFENSE!" and then the facts come out and no, it wasn't. But nobody is being held to account so it doesn't fucking matter.

The shooting in Minneapolis is being investigated by the FBI. So another incompetent Trump toady will be incharge. I'm sure we will all be surprised when they say it was self defense and that we should not believe what we are able to see with our own two eyes.

Abolish ICE. The next democrat to take power needs to be clear on that and get it done.

Do I believe they will?

I'm sure you are shocked and stunned when I tell you not at all. Having that much power at your fingertips is awfully tempting. There are members of both parties that love the idea of being able to command their own private army. And it's another reason why they should be abolished. We don't need armed thugs running around "enforcing" immigration and arresting or murdering anyone who they deem is obstructing them.

Abolish ICE. Be appalled at what happened today. Be sickened by what has been happening. Be clear eyed that it's going to get worse. Then demand that they are abolished and that those that hid behind masks and badges to commit atrocities are tried and jailed. And those that dressed up in cosplay and did photo shoots and lied to the American public about what happened are impeached, tried, jailed, barred from the political sphere.

I'm not the radical here. They are.
