Speed Run...
Brent and I got our flu and Covid vaccines on Saturday. I planned ahead, went to the grocery store on Friday, wrote my Sunday story for Dana on Saturday afternoon, Brent did all the yard work Saturday afternoon. All of it pushed ahead because odds were by Sunday neither of us was going to feel like doing anything.
Or at least I wasn't. Two vaccines ago Brent didn't have a reaction at all to the shot, last year he didn't get the vaccine because he got Covid a few weeks before we were scheduled to get our shots so...
Basically he was a crap shoot on if he would have a reaction at all and we didn't know for sure that I would but odds were...
And woo boy did I. It came on earlier than it usually does. With all of the other doses I could almost guarantee that I'd have 24 hours of fine before the ick hit. This time the cleaver through my head, headache started Saturday evening. Brent got body aches starting then as well. By Sunday I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, full on headache, body aches, fever and chills. Brent was still sore but not as sore, and got better as the day went on. Today I'm much better. This morning I still had a bit of a headache and was just exhausted. It's early afternoon now and I'm pretty much fine. A little tired but mostly fine.
Speed running Covid.
That's what it feels like. Sunday morning was the way Covid felt when I got it. But for a day instead of a few weeks. Today's exhaustion is what getting over Covid felt like, but for a few hours instead of a month or so. It's kind of amazing. I can kind of see if you have never had Covid why you wouldn't want to get the vaccination. It's rough. I think the best indicator on if someone gets the flu vaccine is if they've ever had the flu and I would guess Covid works the same way.
If you've had the full deal the speed run is fine thank you very much. The whole an ounce of prevention thing...
Also, as a reminder, in a lot of places today is the deadline for voter registration. Make sure you are registered, it's all correct, and you are ready to go.
It's time for that pound of cure portion.
Fingers crossed we can vote in a cure for what ails us.
