The Fall of August...
We made it! Another August in the books! As far as Augusts go it wasn't the worst August to ever August so I'll take it.
Reading...I picked up the pace a bit after reading that massive King tome last month. Eight books total, two nonfiction. A few favorite authors published last month or their books came available at the library from work published earlier this year so I'm guessing that's why my pace was so quick. Devoured instead of dawdled.
Writing slowed but I still wrote more days than I didn't and including what I sent to Dana had six fiction pieces. Still not sure if the story I've been trying to churn out for Dana will ever amount to anything more than just a writing exercise with the smallest audience ever but I've been trying to shape it into something so we will see. I'm hoping as Fall starts to settle in, eventually, we are in the 90s again next week, that I will hit my spooky season creative bump and get a few more pieces going here.
Nothing I write will ever be as twisty and creepy and unsettling as what we are living, but I can try.
Health and Fitness... Doctor's appointments all went well. I lost a bit more weight and body fat again this month. I guess all I had to do was decide I was making peace with it all to have my body rebel and decide now I could lose weight. Sounds like me. Though I did have to laugh. That sort of laugh we all do now that is followed by a 'fuck me' pause. Our secretary of unhealthy and inhumane services has decided to limit who has access to the Covid boosters. If you are obese you qualify. I'm just overweight so I don't. Never been bummed about that before.
Moving in to September I'm picking back up MasterClass. I enjoyed most of the ones I took last time and I think they will be a good addition to my day. They will also keep me from doom scrolling so that's bonus. And, of course, they will get their own star so that's always good. Reading, writing, positive book, history lesson, MasterClass, chore list, that should keep me busy and rolling in the stars.
Sara actually gave me a pack of multicolored stars for my birthday which made me laugh so hard. It's good to be seen.
Brent has a bit of a cold right now and so does Katie which is a little weird since they didn't see each other at all, but I think I'll let him know it was just like when Katie would go back to school the end of August beginning of September. She got a cold and shared. (somehow)
Other than that somebody go tuck Billie Joe in so he gets a good rest and let's roll on September!
