The Red Eye...

First off, I'm fine. I'll start there.

This morning at breakfast Brent asked what happened to my eye. I had no idea what he was talking about. He said it was really red and all coming from a single spot. I said I must have gotten a bug bite or scratched it. He was horrified, a bug bite ON YOUR EYE? Oh...he meant the eyeball. I assumed it was the eye area on the face. Yeah I had no clue.

And I forgot all about it.

Until I went to floss my teeth later and looked in the mirror. Oh wow. Okay, yeah, that's kind of gross.

I went off to Dr. Google (sorry, Susan) and found out it's nothing to worry about. Just a broken blood vessel and this is the equivalent of a mystery bruise on my arm or leg. Just in my eye so it's a bright red smear. It should reabsorb within a couple of weeks, maybe sooner. But until then I have a bloody eye.

No telling why it happened. The Mayo Clinic site said it could be caused by trauma to the eye, or sneezing, or coughing or just sometimes they happen, more common with age. The funny thing is I told Brent it was probably another random age thing and yeah, it could be. I did have a big sneezing fit yesterday evening so that's a likely time it happened.

It could also be the point in the movie where you see the demon is taking over.

But probably it's just from sneezing really hard yesterday.

Probably.

It will go through all the phases of a bruise healing so I'll go from a red patch to a brownish green one, to a greenish yellow one, to a yellow one, then it will be gone. Trying to decide if I match my eyeshadow to the discoloration to make it look intentional. Because I'm trying to be more intentional lately.

There are things to watch out for to make sure it's nothing. Brent said we'd keep an eye on it. Pun not intended. I laughed and appreciated the pun anyway. I'm also trying to make sure I find the joy in every day. And if you can't laugh at your own bloody eye what can you laugh at, am I right?

So now you have the update on what random thing is Denise's body doing now? And also a little forewarning just incase it's the demon thing. Which I'm mostly sure it isn't.

Mostly.
