Two Weeks...

Berry. That's the shade of lipstick I'm after right now. I had my perfect reds phase and my deep burgundy period, now I'm after berry. A little less deep than the burgundy but not into pink territory.

Monday I hoped that I would be writing on Wednesday about lipstick colors or something else trivial so there it was.

Whew.

And also, we aren't out of the woods yet.

He did his patented back down for "two weeks" move yesterday about two hours before his self imposed "let's commit more war crimes" deadline. And it's good that he did. Don't get me wrong at all. I am always glad when he backs down.

The problem is the repeated escalations that get us here.

A lot of it is market manipulation. There are multiple trackers out there showing how much is made each time he makes these gonzo announcements and then claws them back. The markets swing up and down people are buying and selling massive amounts of stocks and making a ton of money. Add to that the new "prediction markets" or mass gambling sites and the money involved is astronomical.

There is so much corruption in this administration it's impossible to keep up with it all.

Which is the point. They want all of us to be overwhelmed so when they do something like decide that the luxury airliner that Kristi Noem was using for her flying fuck pad will now be used for Melania's travel we don't even bat an eye. Instead of screaming that it shouldn't have been purchased in the first place and since when does the First Lady get her own plane?

And we're never going to find all of the corruption that took place because nobody is keeping records right now. The money is going in and out and disappearing into so many greedy hands it's going to be impossible to trace it all back. Assuming that at some point a new administration that isn't all about lining their own pockets is in charge.

But for now, at least, we aren't in the day after he "wiped out an entire civilization" so that's really good. And it really is.

But we aren't in a solid position. He's agreed to two weeks, which can mean two weeks or two days or forever. Two weeks for him is like when you are telling a story and say, "the other day" and realize that other day was 6 years ago. It's a nebulous amount of time. And his brilliant deal, the whole negotiation by bombs that Hegseth has been crowing about? It's a worse position than it was before he decided to start a war. So, good job, buddy, you made a real difference! As long as the difference was thousands of civilians killed, the world FULLY understanding that the US is a fickle and unstable nation, and setting up Iran to have more money and a tighter grip on the Strait of Hormuz.

Also Israel looked at the ceasefire agreement and said, "Ceasefire for you, bombing Lebanon for me." Israel's idea of peace in the Middle East is like Russia's idea of peace in the former USSR controlled areas. They will be at peace when they have everything. And apparently we are helping them both so....yay, USA?

But berry. Preferably a stain instead of matte or gloss. My lips have thinned with age and with the constant pursing in disgust, so a stain would be best.
